Dr. Bennett Jacoby, Webmaster & Site Administrator
From an early age, Dr. Jacoby has been interested in "Real Investing." His life changed when he first read
Benjamin Graham's books "Security Analysis" and "The Intelligent Investor". He has read these books
many times over. These tomes have guided Dr. Jacoby through the minefield of investing for many years, and have allowed him
to avoid the pitfalls that "The Herd" always seems to succumb to. Dr. Jacoby enjoys sharing and discussing these
concepts with all that are interested.
Using the ideas found on this site, Dr. Jacoby effectively entered the
stock market in 2001, but had sold everything for a net profit by 2004. The only equities that lost money were those that
didn’t qualify as “Real Investments”. Dr. Jacoby was also heavily invested in real estate in California
and Hawaii, but also had sold all investment assets by the end of 2004. Of course he was the laughing stock of all his friends
who continued to hold equities and real estate. No one is laughing now. As of March 2009, Dr. Jacoby has reentered the markets.
Dr. Jacoby is also the inventor and patent holder of several specialized endoscopic instruments used in Periodontics,
Restorative Dentistry and Dental Surgery that are licensed to
Microvision Dental Technologies, Inc. Dr. Jacoby is Chairman of this company.
Dr. Jacoby was born and raised in Southern California where he attended
California State University at Northridge (C.S.U.N.) graduating in 1983 (with Honors) with a Bachelors degree in both Chemistry
and Biology. He received his D.D.S. degree in 1987 from University of California at Los Angeles (U.C.L.A.), and then moved
to Chicago to attend a one-year internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He returned to Los Angeles and practiced General
Dentistry for one year. He was then accepted to the 2-year Periodontics Residency program at Baylor University in Dallas,
Texas where he received his Certificate in Periodontics and a Masters Degree in Oral Biology in 1991. During this Residency
Dr. Jacoby performed extensive research and publication in the dental sciences which can be seen
HERE. Upon graduation, he then established a private Periodontics specialty practice in Laguna Hills, California, where he designed
and built the first prototypes of the periodontal endoscope.
In 1998, Dr. Jacoby moved to Hawaii, and several
years ago joined Dr. William Babbitt, a Board-Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon at his private practice in Kona,
on the Big Island of Hawaii. Dr. Jacoby is also the volunteer Periodontist for the charity Mobilecare that provides dental
